A free personal account lets you apply to be a sitter on Petme, so you can do things like walk dogs or care for pets overnight. With a personal account, Petme helps you by handling marketing, payments, and offering a Petme guarantee for safety—you just focus on caring for pets.
A business account is different: it’s for people who already have their own pet sitting business, want to promote it on Petme, and handle their own marketing and payments (and it requires a paid subscription). So, to be a Petme sitter, always start with a free personal account.
Here’s how to become a verified pet sitter or dog walker with a free personal account:
- 1 Download the Petme app on your phone (it works on iPhone and Android) and choose personal profile during the onboarding—not a business account!
- 2 Open the app, tap the menu (it looks like three lines in the top right corner), and pick “Become a pet sitter.” Or, you can go straight to the application form to sign up.
- 3 Add info about yourself to your Petme profile, like your name, a picture, and bio. Engage with the community—the more you comment and share, the more pet owners will want to pick you!
- 4 Once we review and approve your application form (make sure you answer all questions to get your approval faster), you will be able to activate your pet sitter profile and start earning money!
