Every sitter on Petme chooses a cancellation policy for their services. This gives pet parents clarity upfront about what happens if a booking doesn’t go ahead. Policies balance fairness for both sides – allowing pet parents flexibility while ensuring sitters aren’t left unpaid for last-minute changes.
Here’s how it works if you cancel:
- Before the cancellation policy period: You receive a full refund of the sitter’s service fees.
- During the cancellation policy period: You receive a 50% refund of the sitter’s service fees.
- During the booking (boarding & house sitting only): You receive a 50% refund of the remaining service fees for unused time.
For example, if a sitter has a 3-day cancellation policy and you cancel 5 days in advance, you’ll get a full refund. But if you cancel 2 days before the booking starts, only 50% of the sitter’s service fees will be refunded.
You will see the refund amount at the time of cancellation.
Please note that Petme’s service fees are not refunded in case of cancellation.
