What is dog walking?
Dog walking means that a sitter walks your dog in your neighbourhood.
How booking works
- Send a request to the sitter. Choose the service and your pet. Choose the days you need, and for each day add one or more walks with a start and an end time. You can book several walks on the same day, or walks on several days, in the same request. A walk lasts as long as you book. Sitters usually set their rate per 30 minutes, so a one-hour walk costs twice as much as a 30-minute walk, and you can book any length that suits you and your dog. Add a message for the sitter.
- A chat opens with the sitter, where you can talk through the details.
- The sitter accepts your request. Only then does the Book Now button appear for you.
- You pay in the app and the booking is confirmed.
While the request is still open and not booked, you or the sitter can change it with Modify request, or close it.
What to agree with your sitter
Every sitter sets up their own services and rates, so the details can differ from one sitter to another. Before you book, use the chat to agree on:
- the days and times of the walks
- how long each walk should be
- your dog's energy level, behaviour with other dogs and any commands they know
- how the sitter will get into your home, if needed, and where the lead and bags are
Don't pay before you're sure
The sitter accepting your request doesn't mean everything has been agreed. Please don't pay until you are sure the sitter can meet everything your pet needs. Once the booking is paid and confirmed, cancelling it means a refund minus a 10% administrative fee, so you would not get the full amount back. You can find the details in Cancellations and refunds.
